My Card Rewards FAQs

1. What is My Card Rewards?

My Card Rewards is the easy way to make every penny you spend at TOTAL count automatically towards your Rewards Balance – simply by registering your credit and debit cards on our secure website. Our software recognises your card(s) when you use them at TOTAL and automatically adds 1 Offer Credit and 1 Prize Draw Credit into your account whenever your spend level hits £30.

2. How does My Card Rewards work?

or register for TOTAL Rewards and opt in to collect Offer and Prize Draw Credits via My Card Rewards from the registration form or your Profile page. Register your credit and debit cards where prompted. As you spend, Offer and Prize Draw Credits are automatically added to your Rewards Balance each time your spend level reaches £30. You can register more than one card and add new ones (or delete expired ones) at any time.

3. How does ‘every penny count’ with My Card Rewards?

The card recognition technology keeps a balance of your spend whenever you use the registered payment card(s) at TOTAL. As you accumulate money spent at TOTAL, 1 Offer Credit and 1 Prize Draw Credit will automatically be added to your account whenever you hit the £30 threshold.

Example: if you visit TOTAL and spend £12, that balance is held against your account. You don’t earn any extra Offer and Prize Draw Credits yet because you haven’t spent a total of over £30 but the next time you visit TOTAL the next amount spent is added to the initial amount. So, if you spend £20, you have an accumulated total of £32. This would trigger 1 Offer Credit and 1 Prize Draw Credit to be added to your TOTAL Rewards account balance. Furthermore, the remaining balance of £2 is carried over – meaning every single penny you spend at TOTAL counts towards your Rewards.

4. Are my card details safe?

The security of your personal data is extremely important to us. In relation to all your personal data we maintain a high level of security, in particular in relation to payment cards held. We operate a multi-tier security approach:

1. When you enter your card details on a computer this is transmitted to us encrypted within secure webpages using SSL, Data, and Password encryption technology. Our internet web servers are certified by Digicert, a public Certificate Authority. Pages are automatically expired to cover the instance of members registering cards from internet cafes.
2. Your card numbers are only stored and processed in encrypted format and only the last 4 digits are visible. This means that if anyone does obtain your email address/password combination they will not be able to see the full card number that you have registered.
3. Data storage on our systems, and the communication between us and the financial and technology companies is in accordance with legislation and best practice within the payment card industry.

In order to assist us to maintain your security:
• Always access the My Card Rewards pages from the main TOTAL Rewards website homepage.
• Please be aware that we would never ask you in a cold call or in an unsolicited email to reveal your card number or to confirm numbers that you have previously registered. If you receive any such communication please contact our customer services team at once on 0844 560 3714 or send a copy of it to feedback@total-rewards.co.uk.

If at any stage you initiate a conversation with our customer services team about the cards registered to your account, we would only ever refer to a card number (or ask you to identify one) by reference to the last 4 digits of the card.

5. Can I switch back to collecting Promotional Vouchers?

No problem – simply visit your Profile page and tick the box to choose to claim Promotional Vouchers instead of My Card Rewards. Just remember that you won’t receive a Promotional Voucher (and therefore any Offer or Prize Draw Credits) unless you spend at least £30 in one transaction at a TOTAL Service Station. It’s only with My Card Rewards that every penny counts!

6. What happens if I pay with a non-registered credit or debit card?

It’s very important to register ALL payment cards that you might use at TOTAL to My Card Rewards. Unfortunately, a transaction made by a My Card Rewards registered member on a non-registered debit or credit card won’t count towards your Rewards Balance and there’s no way to retroactively claim the Offer and Prize Draw Credits. Furthermore, if you have chosen to claim Credits via My Card Rewards you can’t bank paper vouchers any more, so even if staff do hand you a Promotional Voucher, you won’t be able to use it.

7. Can I continue to collect paper vouchers if I register with My Card Rewards?

No – once you switch to claiming Offer and Prize Draw Credits via My Card Rewards you no longer need to bank Promotional Vouchers. Although staff at TOTAL may hand you a Promotional Voucher if you happen to spend over £30 in one transaction, you won’t be able to bank the voucher. However, if you would prefer to switch back to collecting and banking Promotional Vouchers you can do so at any time from your TOTAL Rewards Profile page.

8. How quickly do my Credits land in my Rewards Balance?

Your Offer and Prize Draw Credits will be applied automatically to your Rewards Balance. There is a minimum of 4 working days before the transaction is updated on your balance on the website.
